new identity

Hello New Identity!  Yes, I mean all of you!  Just wanted to ask you all a quick question!  What IDENTITY are you using today?  Have you thought about how you want to be more like Jesus today?  Are you identifying with Him today? this week? this month? 

It all starts with what you think about!  "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."  Romans 8:6

So what have you been thinking about lately?  A carnal mind only thinks about the things of this world.  A spiritual mind focuses on God.  A worldly mind causes death.

 A couple more verses later, Paul says:  "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die:  but if ye through the Spirit do mortify (kill) the deeds of the body, ye shall live"  Romans 8:13

If you don't want to die, you have to kill yourself!  This really doesn't contradict itself.  I'm definitely not talking about suicide.  I'm talking about killing the sinful deeds that people naturally do!  Then you will be able to really live!

By the way, talking about the mind, remember the Helmet of Salvation?  If you take it off, you are taking a chance of losing out with God.  Mind what you think about!

Just wanted to congratulate Larry on entering his blog with success. He is such a blessing to have at new life. We have seen you guys grow so much with him teaching you. I hope you all realize the blessing God has given you. We are looking forward to seeing this part of the web page grow so if you have any ideas, please feel free to let Larry know and he will pass them on.

This is my first entry on the NEW I.D. blog.  Let's see how this works.  I'll know you have read this entry if you know the following memory verse for Sunday, June 10th.  "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."  I Timothy 4:12

This verse just reiterates our lesson today on being pure as a teenager.  God requires it of you.  By the way, you'll be thankful when you get older and possibly married.
